The Foundation carries out its mission by supporting and funding projects that advance structural and systemic changes that are likely to result in a more equitable and just society. In doing so, the Foundation concentrates its resources in education, sustainable economic development through worker cooperatives, and advocacy and activism that are likely to produce changes that result in a more equitable distribution of resources and toward economic and social justice. This includes funding legal support for activists and advocates working to advance issues which the Foundation decides to adopt as a means to further its mission.
HOW WE SELECT OUR PROJECTS
The Foundation looks specifically for new ideas that are likely to advance economic and social justice. In this way, the Foundation may be at the forefront in assisting and supporting innovative approaches, especially initiatives that can be catalysts for others and which can be replicated locally as well as globally.
The Foundation’s general support is designed to enable organizations or individuals to achieve goals more effectively by focusing on systemic change, sustainability planning, and strategic partnerships while leveraging additional funding. The Foundation does not accept unsolicited grant proposals that may compromise its core principles, but instead seeks organizations, as well as individuals, whom it sees as challenging the structures of privilege and inequality and that show potential for significant impact.
